Our Mission:

Love God. Love Others. Make a Difference.

Bethel Church of the Nazarene is an ever-changing, ever-growing family, interconnected across generations, cultures and socio-economic groups. We strive to meet today’s challenges by equipping people to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ. We create opportunities for spiritual, emotional and relational growth through our corporate worship, personal training, mentoring, and small-group fellowship.

In all we do, we value people, and their unique contributions to God’s work. Each person brings special gifts and talents to the table, and we honor and appreciate them all. We are God’s people, working to extend God's influence in our community and around the world. We are ready and willing to go and do: whether that means expanding the use of our facility, starting a new work in our community, or sending people to distant mission fields. We are a family of believers who are excited about worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are determined to honor Him through our lives.

Love God.

We believe that the first call upon our lives and the most important commandment is to love God. We seek to live out the words of Deuteronomy 6:5 that Jesus echoes in the Gospels-- that we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind, and all of our strength.

We seek to do this by gathering together to worship every Sunday and by submitting ourselves to God's loving will for our lives. Every song we sing, every prayer raised, every gift given, every message received, every encouraging word spoken, and every action in obedience to God is an act of love on our part. We seek to facilitate a variety of opportunities for us all to love God with the gifts, strengths, and passions that God has given to us.

Love Others.

When Jesus was asked by some Jewish leaders what the greatest commandment was, he responded by saying "love God" (Matthew 22:37 paraphrase). Then, he said the second is like it, "Love your neighbor as yourself." In other words, we are supposed to love other people.

Just as loving God is essential to who we are at Bethel, so is loving others. We seek to love others as we join in fellowship with one another in small groups and by caring for the spiritual and physical needs of our community. We have a variety of groups and ministries that enable us to love other folks in all sorts of ways. Check out our different ministries to learn a bit more about how we strive to love others.

Make A Difference.

We wholeheartedly believe that the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus makes a difference in our lives. There is nothing that we could do to earn what God has done for us through Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9). And yet, we are called to be God's partners to make a difference in the world by spreading this good news to everyone (Matthew 28:19-20)!

We seek to live out this calling by encouraging and empowering each other to make a difference where we are at. Whether we are encouraging our friends at school, volunteering with compassionate organizations, talking to our co-workers about the difference Jesus has made in our lives, or any other loving action that impacts the people we are connected to, we desire to follow God's leading to make a difference in our world.
